November Book Club Book is Chosen - Save the Date!
•Posted on October 28 2022

The Francophile book club is off and running! Thanks for everyone who attended this Wednesday evening. We have picked out next book for November - Paris Blue by Julie Scolnik, who will join us and be our special guest for the evening of November 16th at 6:30pm ET. So looking forward to chatting with her about her book!
Paris Blue is a memoir of first love. Paris Blue starts off with twenty year old American student Julie arriving in Paris to study the flute. From across a sea of faces in a chorus of the Orchestre de Paris, she is drawn to Luc, a striking (married) French lawyer in the bass section.
The book is a moving tale of an ebullient young American and a reserved Frenchman that will transport readers to the cafés, streets, and concert halls of Paris in the late seventies. Spanning three decades, the story evolves from deep romance to sudden heartbreak, and finally to a lifelong quest for answers to release hidden, immutable grief. Against a magical backdrop of Paris and classical music, Paris Blue is true fairy-tale memoir (with a dark underbelly) about the tenacious grip of first love.
We hope you can join us! Please message me, send me your email, and I will send you along the Zoom link.

We also picked a book, time and date for December - the light (and short - keeping in mind how busy everyone is during he holiday month) hearted mystery - Murder in the Christmas Market by Susan-Keirnan Lewis. 6:30pm ET December 14th - mark your calendars for this holiday edition of book club!
Please send along any suggestions for January and beyond and we will choose the next book in November.
À bientôt!
